These codes (one unique code for each LED lamp) will be decoded by light detectors included in smart-devices, or by detectors designed particularly for this purpose. From the code information, the device positioning can be determined with high precision.

Cracow University of Technology posted this:Comprehensive method to assess the technical condition of the pressure equipment of installation operated in the chemical and petrochemical industryA comprehensive method to assess the technical condition of the pressure equipment of installation operated in the chemical and petrochemical industry, with the use of acoustic emission signal analysis, structure stress field and the degradation st The algorithm for the assessment of the technical condition of pressure equipment of chemical and petrochemical installations, subjected to the long-term operation, allows to determine the damage degree of the material and allows to predict the further development of degradation processes in a function of time. The proposed approach to the problem of safe operation of devices is fundamentally different from the solutions which are currently used in industrial practice. Currently, the supervision of these objects is based mainly on standard non-destructive testing methods. The main limitation of used methods is the lack of the possibility of both examining the object in its entire volume and testing the device in working conditions. Developed algorithm allows to effectively solve current problems in the diagnosis of chemical installations related to the assessment of their technical condition and determination of the conditions for further operation in real time. The algorithm is particularly recommended for monitoring devices in which adverse damages occur due to the long-term operation.

Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Artificial vision system for the semaphoric control of the access to parking and garages, through the monitoring of pedestrians.The research group “Intelligent Vehicles and Traffic Technologies” of the Automation Department of the University of Alcalá has developed a procedure for the semaphoric control of the access roads to parkings and garages by monitoring pedestrians using artificial vision. It is a road safety system that ensures that the exit access of the vehicles from the parking is performed safely for pedestrians, by monitoring the different access points to the parking, using a stereoscopic vision system with infrared lighting. The images provided by the stereoscopic vision system are processed by a computer, obtaining information regarding the presence of pedestrians in the vicinity of the monitored access point. This information is used to act on a traffic light that controls the exit access of vehicles. The group looks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies from the sector of transport infrastructure and traffic safety.

This system avoids the movement of the armours in an efficient, technical and reusable way, and, therefore, also avoids future expensive treatments in case of unwanted movements. This new system is characterized by its low cost, light weight, ease of use and versatility for any constructive element.
