Universidad de Granada posted this:Method for isolating circulating epithelial pulmonary cells and their use as markers for diagnosing Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)A procedure is described based on Liquid Biopsy techniques that allows both the diagnosis of COPD, as well as its evolution in patients. In order to do that, circulating pulmonary cells (CPCs) that could be present in blood of patients diagnosed with COPD are detected and characterized by combining two different techniques: - Immunogenetic positive selection for their isolation in peripheral blood. - Immunocytochemistry for detecting CPCs by using specific markers for pulmonary epithelial cells.

SOLERBAGS Company posted this:CORK PERFORMED , we offer a technological process to give volume to the cork, it is suitable for any market.Soler Bags Company has developed the necessary technological process to give the cork laminate textile the necessary rigidity to conform volumes. . Thus, for example, cointainers, reliefs, curved surfaces with angles of up to 90º and all types of preforms can be obtained. This process provides enormous creative potentail in products designed with cork laminate. It also provides greater rigitity to the material, improving the strenght and durability of the product.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Artificial vision system for the semaphoric control of the access to parking and garages, through the monitoring of pedestrians. The research group “Intelligent Vehicles and Traffic Technologies” of the Automation Department of the University of Alcalá has developed a procedure for the semaphoric control of the access roads to parkings and garages by monitoring pedestrians using artificial vision. It is a road safety system that ensures that the exit access of the vehicles from the parking is performed safely for pedestrians, by monitoring the different access points to the parking, using a stereoscopic vision system with infrared lighting. The images provided by the stereoscopic vision system are processed by a computer, obtaining information regarding the presence of pedestrians in the vicinity of the monitored access point. This information is used to act on a traffic light that controls the exit access of vehicles. The group looks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies from the sector of transport infrastructure and traffic safety.

Its main field of application is in biomedicine, as non-viral transport agents, as drug transporters, to elaborate a drug, as antimicrobial, antiviral or antipyretic agents. In the environmental sector we also find its application as biocides for water treatment. The group seeks to reach license agreements, collaboration or commercial agreements with technical assistance with companies from the sector of Health, Pharma and Environment.

UNIVERSIDAD DE ALICANTE posted this:Holographic sensor for detection of adulterants in essential oilsThe research group of Holography and Optical Processing of the University of Alicante has developed a holographic technique for the detection of adulterants in essential oils. This technique is able to detect different types of adulterants qualitatively. In addition, a quantitative measurement of the degree of adulteration of an essential oil can also be performed by means of pre-calibration of the sensor for a particular adulterant. The sensor could be miniaturized and manufactured at a low cost compared to traditional methods of analysis such as gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography. The sensor can be used by unqualified personnel.
