The device, fixable by vacuum to the surface under study, makes possible the measurement of the electrochemical interfacial impedance, that is the main parameter of interest for adherence quality and anti-corrosion performance.

Some restorers used to apply molten beeswax on their granite surfaces to stop imminent deterioration of the monuments. At first, this treatment was a good solution to consolidate the stone, but with time it resulted counterproductive. This method allows removal and cleaning of wax and other contaminants from porous stones in historical monuments and artworks using nondestructive means through laser technology.

The algorithm couples 1D mechanical modelling with 2D simulation of cross-section temperature distribution what makes it very efficient. The application consists of GUI and stimulation engine modules.

The mortar is especially interesting for energy efficiency in buildings. Its solar radiation absorption at low temperatures is high, helping to maintain indoor heating, while its reflectance increases during the summer, reducing over-warming of the envelope. Industrial partners from the construction industry are being sought to collaborate through a patent licence agreement.

The proposed approach to the problem of safe operation of devices is fundamentally different from the solutions which are currently used in industrial practice. Currently, the supervision of these objects is based mainly on standard non-destructive testing methods. The main limitation of used methods is the lack of the possibility of both examining the object in its entire volume and testing the device in working conditions. Developed algorithm allows to effectively solve current problems in the diagnosis of chemical installations related to the assessment of their technical condition and determination of the conditions for further operation in real time. The algorithm is particularly recommended for monitoring devices in which adverse damages occur due to the long-term operation.

It is a road safety system that ensures that the exit access of the vehicles from the parking is performed safely for pedestrians, by monitoring the different access points to the parking, using a stereoscopic vision system with infrared lighting. The images provided by the stereoscopic vision system are processed by a computer, obtaining information regarding the presence of pedestrians in the vicinity of the monitored access point. This information is used to act on a traffic light that controls the exit access of vehicles. The group looks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies from the sector of transport infrastructure and traffic safety.
Universidad de Alicante posted this:System for fixing armours during concretingThe research group “Materials and Construction Systems for Buildings”, from the Building and Urbanism Department of the University of Alicante, has developed a new and simple system that allows to fix any type of armours in concrete construction elements during the concreting process. This system avoids the movement of the armours in an efficient, technical and reusable way, and, therefore, also avoids future expensive treatments in case of unwanted movements. This new system is characterized by its low cost, light weight, ease of use and versatility for any constructive element. The research group is looking for companies interested in commercial exploitation.

The system uses standard mounting clamps without previous specific machining operations (as may be welding or drilling).
University of Vigo posted this:Removable and reconfigurable system for corner connection of square tube profilesThis removable connection system can be adapted to the size of the section, by adjusting the length of the connecting bolts, using the same flanges. Is usable for a wide range of standard profiles, which avoids the need for a flange size for each profile section.
University of Vigo posted this:Removable system for continuous connection of square tube profilesThe removable system allows mounting on each profile separately, joining then in continuity with plates at the head of each of the flanges. The use of anti-buckling clamps prevents local buckling of the walls of the profiles, associated with tightening of flanges. Flanges have nerves to reduce stresses. The same flanges are valid for connecting different sized sections of square tube profiles.

The images are captured with digital, thermal imagers, with the use of drones and robots to enter to areas with difficult access and from them, the processing that facilitates the diagnosis is carried out with a software. This tool is useful for conservation and maintenance companies of buildings, real estate corporations, insurance companies or certification to achieve collaboration and commercial agreements with technical assistance.
