The method is very simple and fast, it provides an excellent dispersion of the graphene derivatives in both the solid components of the resin and in the cured polymer matrix, and is entirely friendly with the environment. The novel method does not require the use of organic solvents nor water, ultrasounds, and high pressure/temperature. The resulting resin composites show excellent mechanical properties, good wear resistance, easy manipulation and increase the insolubility in oral fluids, and therefor they have special interest in applications in odontology, traumatology and non-medical applications too (automobile, construction, civil engineering, aeronautics, space engineering, electronics and optics). It is looking for companies interested in acquiring this technology for its commercial exploitation.

The invention, that’s been arising interest in the business sector, locally and nationally, aims at the production of habitable modules using the soil in inhospitable locations, and it was specifically thought for Mars. The advantages of this process are the total automation, and it distinguishes itself from other solutions proposed until now for providing a closed construction, airtight, with total habitability, safe against cosmic radiation with other devices, and the possibility of holding distinctive functions. He University is looking for partners that may be interested in financing the development of this tool.

The invention respects to a product with excellent energy absorption capacity to impact and sound damping for vehicle applications, houses, machinery, equipment and devices with superior performance.
UNIVERSIDAD DE ALICANTE posted this:Control system that allows drones to flight autonomouslyResearchers from the University of Alicante have developed a control system, which allows a greater versatility in flight for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles also colloquially called drones). With this system a vehicle can switch between different flight plans or define in real time the optimum aircraft movement depending on the environment and the information received by its sensors. Moreover, this system also includes a communication mechanism that allows a ground station to define new flight plans while the aircraft is in the air. This system is a significant advance over existing systems, as latter ones require prior planning to take off and have a reduced flexibility when the vehicles are in flight. It is applicable to all types of aircraft using the communication protocol MAVLINK.
Fundació URV posted this:New device and method to detect the temperature remotelyThe technology allows to detect the temperature remotely using the emission of light by nanoparticles of a luminescent material doped with lanthanide ions (Yb+3, Er+3, Tm+3 and HO+3, among others) deposited on the object to find its temperature. Excitation with infrared radiation of these luminescent particles produces light emission in different regions of the visible light collected by a sensor to obtain an intensity ratio.

In particular, the device allows obtaining maps of long range displacement (greater than mm) in dynamic regime (in real time). Thus this system is very useful in the experimental study of the materials’ mechanical properties, especially if they suffer large deformations at high speed. It is a computationally simpler alternative and more inexpensive than the digital mapping technique for 3D images which is currently the only one allowing such measures. The group seeks licensing agreements, collaborative and commercial agreements with technical assistance.

Furthermore, the sintered ceramic substrate guarantees superior adhesion and resistance to fracture under high mechanical loads. The fabricated temperature sensitive diamond surface comprises well adhered ohmic contacts deposited on the backside of the dielectric ceramic substrate. This configuration prevents interaction between the temperature sensitive surface and the surrounding environment which is essential for biochemical devices applications. Furthermore, the planar geometry of the disclosed thermistor maximizes the contact region between the temperature sensitive surface and any solid flat surface on which it is placed. In this way, improved response times are obtained comparing to traditional round shaped thermistors.

The process of the invention makes it possible to obtain a product with a nanocrystalline nature, composed of tabular- or plate-shaped primary nanoparticles in porous microcrystalline aggregates, which facilitates the subsequent disaggregation process thereof into powders that have an immediate application as ultra-fine abrasives and as loads (or fillers) in plastics or other types of materials. This characteristic represents a significant advantage of the product of the invention, since compact corundum is a hard, difficult-to-grind material.
