The combination of those data, makes it possible to easily locate vehicles in the car park regardless of their type or size and the environmental conditions / lighting (e.g. at night). The research group looks for town halls and companies in charge of the management/administration of car parks, to reach license agreements, collaboration agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance. There is a great added value in an application that combines the knowledge of the free spaces and the vehicles in movement through the parking so it can provide the right indications to the user guiding him to a free space.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Artificial vision system for the semaphoric control of the access to parking and garages, through the monitoring of pedestrians. The research group “Intelligent Vehicles and Traffic Technologies” of the Automation Department of the University of Alcalá has developed a procedure for the semaphoric control of the access roads to parkings and garages by monitoring pedestrians using artificial vision. It is a road safety system that ensures that the exit access of the vehicles from the parking is performed safely for pedestrians, by monitoring the different access points to the parking, using a stereoscopic vision system with infrared lighting. The images provided by the stereoscopic vision system are processed by a computer, obtaining information regarding the presence of pedestrians in the vicinity of the monitored access point. This information is used to act on a traffic light that controls the exit access of vehicles. The group looks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies from the sector of transport infrastructure and traffic safety.

The group seeks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements and commercial agreements with technical assistance with companies that perform maintenance and commercialization of precision kinemometers and companies that produce intelligent systems of transport.

The device consists of a set of cameras located in the environment of each point of interest, an infrared lighting system, an image processing module and a wireless communication system with the train. The system contributes to the increase of safety in rail transport, providing the machinists with visual information about the state of the conflicting points and notifying the presence of obstacles. The system is capable of detecting the presence of objects in daylight and nighttime conditions. The group seeks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies that work in the manufacture of safety equipment for rail transport systems.
University of Huelva posted this:Manual Handler of Concrete SleepersThe machine was designed to disengage steel bars from prefabricated concrete sleepers manually, which allows to increase production, safety at work and to improve the technical properties of the final product. The stretcher has two benches that allow movement in two directions, longitudinal and trasnverse. The process is done in such a way that the four active screws are de-stressed at the same time, avoiding damages.

Additionally, the base bitumen used is in-situ modified during the process and, consequently, both low and high temperature properties result remarkably improved. Finally, waste gypsum and phosphogypsum are preferably used to form the foam

University of Vigo posted this:New wheel slip reset controller for brake systemsThe main motivation for using reset control is the overcoming of fundamental limitations or trade-offs of conventional controllers: with the conventional controllers if we want a fast braking response, the system is fragile and sensitive to uncertainties; and if we want a robust system, this requires slower braking actions. Reset control is a novel technique that achieves more robust and fester braking responses in a way that no other conventional controller is able to produce.

Based on artificial vision, this system measures the remaining thickness of the graphite layers of the collector strips. Automatic processing of collected data generates a 3D model of the strips, analyzing it to detect cracks and wear, which is crucial for pantograph maintenance.

UNIVERSIDAD DE ALICANTE posted this:Method for recycling of vessels and other structures composed of fiberglass and resinResearchers at the University of Alicante have developed a method to recycle composite fiberglass structures on a polymer matrix (resin). The process removes the polymer matrix, recovering glass fiber which can be reused. The process is not aggressive with fiberglass. It takes place at room temperature and is able to recover all the fiberglass used. The method is industrially scalable and can be automated. Fiberglass composites and resin are widely used in the construction of boat hulls, tanks, wind turbine blades and many other applications. This method is a very important innovation for the sector and there was no effective method that allowed recovering and reusing these materials.
