The system is based on a motion amplifier mechanism that allows to amplify extremely small displacements (nanometers) up to 200 times, providing the possibility to characterize the mechano-transduction mechanisms either of a single cell or a tissue in a 3D gel scaffold. Partners to further develop the system applying to specific assays and/or to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.

The technique has applications in the field of design debugging or failure analysis. It allows to test and characterize the individual blocks that constitute a complete system (e.g. low noise amplifier, mixer, power amplifier), even when their electrical outputs are not accessible to the classical instrumentation equipment. Partners to further develop the system and/or to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.

The device uses dual dry electrodes placed on a mechanical support that the patient touches, holds or grasps, and can be easily applied wherever a fast ECG measurement can be of interest. A laboratory prototype is available that can be wireless connected to any convenient user interface such as a PC. Partners to further develop the device and/or to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.

University of Vigo posted this:New wheel slip reset controller for brake systemsThe main motivation for using reset control is the overcoming of fundamental limitations or trade-offs of conventional controllers: with the conventional controllers if we want a fast braking response, the system is fragile and sensitive to uncertainties; and if we want a robust system, this requires slower braking actions. Reset control is a novel technique that achieves more robust and fester braking responses in a way that no other conventional controller is able to produce.
University of Vigo posted this:New non-destructive method for “in situ” monitoring of anticorrosive protection of organic coatingsThe main novelty of the device and procedure is the new portable sensor adaptable to virtually any surface. The device, fixable by vacuum to the surface under study, makes possible the measurement of the electrochemical interfacial impedance, that is the main parameter of interest for adherence quality and anti-corrosion performance.

If the cell is part of a thermoelectric generator, the device allows the conversion of the heat produced by incident radiation into electrical energy, due to the temperature difference established in the cell. This technology can also be used to take advantage of the residual heat of machines or electrical circuits. Industrial partners from the energy industry are being sought to collaborate through a patent license agreement. An offer for Patent Licensing
Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas posted this:Thermochromic mortar coating for a more sustainable construction CSIC has developed a thermochromic mortar coating with optical properties in the solar radiation range that vary according to temperature in a reversible way. The mortar is especially interesting for energy efficiency in buildings. Its solar radiation absorption at low temperatures is high, helping to maintain indoor heating, while its reflectance increases during the summer, reducing over-warming of the envelope. Industrial partners from the construction industry are being sought to collaborate through a patent licence agreement.

They can be used for a wide range of systems that require high power and medium energy densities such as distributed and smart grid applications, stand-alone power systems, load balancers, uninterruptible power supply, etc. The technology has been proof as prototype and shows high performance, fast charge-discharge and efficient cyclability (98% after 1.500 cycles). Industrial partners are being sought to collaborate and/or exploit the existing know-how through a patent license agreement.
Universidad de Alicante posted this:New metal-free electrocatalysts for fuel cellsThe Carbon Materials and Environment Research Group of the University of Alicante has developed a new method for obtaining carbon materials with excellent properties such as electrocatalysts in fuel cells or metal-air batteries. The process is based on the thermal treatment of polyaniline (or its derivatives) at high temperature and allows to obtain metal-free carbon materials with a high performance, in a very simple, fast way and in a single stage. These novel materials are characterized by their excellent catalytic activity and selectivity in the oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline medium, they are very stable and resistant to methanol and carbon monoxide poisoning, and above all, they stand out for their low manufacturing cost, which makes them promising candidates to replace the current commercial platinum-based catalysts. We are looking for companies interested in acquiring this technology for commercial exploitation.
