It is a road safety system that ensures that the exit access of the vehicles from the parking is performed safely for pedestrians, by monitoring the different access points to the parking, using a stereoscopic vision system with infrared lighting. The images provided by the stereoscopic vision system are processed by a computer, obtaining information regarding the presence of pedestrians in the vicinity of the monitored access point. This information is used to act on a traffic light that controls the exit access of vehicles. The group looks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies from the sector of transport infrastructure and traffic safety.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Procedure for measuring the speed of motor vehicles in the short section, with minimum error geometry, using 2 cameras and artificial vision algorithms.The research group in Intelligent Vehicles and Traffic Technologies of the Automation Department of the University of Alcalá has developed a procedure for the punctual measurement of the speed of motor vehicles, through the use of at least two cameras, pointing to two different regions of the track, calculating the relative distances of the vehicle from the cameras by detecting the license plate and its internal elements, storing timestamps, calculating the speed for all possible combinations of distances between cameras that are at the optimum distance that generates minimum error in the calculation of the speed and calculating the average speed of all the speed measurements obtained for optimal distances of minimum error. The group seeks for licensing agreements, technical cooperation agreements, manufacturing agreements and commercial agreements with technical assistance with companies that perform maintenance and commercialization of precision kinemometers and companies that produce intelligent systems of transport.

This invention therefore relates to a variable displacement vane pump and the variations in the fluid’s flow rate conveyed by the pump for a given rotation is achieved by changing a longitudinal length of the chambers, and not by changing the eccentricity between the ring and the rotor. This is the main difference between this and the variable flow vane pumps currently available. The university is looking for companies that develop and produce oil pumps to license this technology.

The resulting catalyst shows equal or even better performance as Pt catalysts. Following the patented procedure of synthesis, the catalyst produced has a lower particle size. This leads to higher surface per particle and therefore, a better ratio yield when interacting in oxidation reactions, leading to a higher oxygen production rate.

Here, oxidation processes occurs upon electrodes named anodes where the substance which must be oxidized loses its electrons on the anode without needing conventional oxidising agents. Therefore, contaminants derived from the use of conventional oxidising agents are not generated and hence, no need for the management of hazardous residues is applicable. On the other hand, the electrochemical processes are developed under soft conditions (atmospheric pressure and room temperature) and clearly facilitate further processes of separation of one of the compounds of the reaction mixture.

It is a passive protection system for vehicles which absorbs the maximum amount of mechanical energy in a crash with minimal added weight and volume. Assumes additional protection that enhances the vehicle's passive safety, minimizing the consequences of a collision for the passengers. The system has an innovative design that allows placing it in different positions inside the vehicle or making structural parts and is manufactured with advanced materials. Innovative aspects The system is designed to provide protection that goes beyond the current regulations for passenger cars, as it is able to absorb a larger proportion of the mechanical energy generated in a collision. Also improve the passive safety of vehicles (vans, trucks) or special vehicles (ambulances, fire trucks, armored vehicles) in circulation. It also provides substantial improvements for heavy duty vehicles, contrary to what is happening now should be able to absorb themselves much of the energy produced in a collision with a vehicle lighter, thereby minimizing the potential damage that may occur in people who travel light vehicle.
