This process applies techniques of the digital image processing such as pixel segmentation, recognition and selection of regions, as well as operations in the regions found within digital images with the purpose of detecting nudity. The segmentation under the colour HSV model is used for locating and separating the pixels corresponding to human skin, as well as the algorithm RSOR for recognising and separating the region with the highest number of skin pixels within the segmented image (highest region) and evaluating the digital images.
Fundació URV posted this:A robust breast cancer computer-aided diagnosis systemWe analyze breast cancer in mammographies, ultrasonographies, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and thermographies. Our analysis includes mass/normal breast tissue classification, benign/malignant tumor classification in mammograms and ultrasound images, tumor detection in thermograms, mammogram registration and analysis of the evolution of breast tumors. We also quantify and visualize the evolution of breast tumors in patients undergoing medical treatment. While the previous works mainly focus on analyzing one type of breast images, we implement a robust CAD system for detecting, classifying and studying the evolution of breast cancer. This CAD system analyzes breast cancer in several types of medical images. To implement our CAD system, we use computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning methods. We also need to collect a large scale breast cancer dataset from hospitals. This dataset should include mammograms, ultrasound, thermograms and MRI images for the same patients. Our CAD gives accurate diagnosis results because it gathers information from different sources.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Location system and navigation assistance for blind people, using artificial vision.Robesafe group from Alcalá University is developing an assistance navigation system for blind people to guide them in structured indoor environments (such as corridors, distributors, rooms ...) and outdoor environments as well, using the merger between a GPS sensor and artificial vision. The system will show the path to follow to get to a destination, using acoustic information obtained by a synthesizer voice, similar to how the current GPS navigators do it. The group is interested in reaching commercial agreements with technical assistance with companies dedicated to the designing of mobility assistance systems for blind people.

The images are captured with digital, thermal imagers, with the use of drones and robots to enter to areas with difficult access and from them, the processing that facilitates the diagnosis is carried out with a software. This tool is useful for conservation and maintenance companies of buildings, real estate corporations, insurance companies or certification to achieve collaboration and commercial agreements with technical assistance.

They can also make use of sonar images or adding structured light to the environment in order to analyze defects and shapes in products. The figure shows an image obtained by means of a range camera that allows distinguishing an object by its depth. Thus, its position and defects can be determined through its volume. The technology is totally developed and has been laboratory and field tested, although, it requires a particular specification for each case. The technology can be used for real-time inspection of production processes, both for the recognition and for the classification and quality inspection.
