This process applies techniques of the digital image processing such as pixel segmentation, recognition and selection of regions, as well as operations in the regions found within digital images with the purpose of detecting nudity. The segmentation under the colour HSV model is used for locating and separating the pixels corresponding to human skin, as well as the algorithm RSOR for recognising and separating the region with the highest number of skin pixels within the segmented image (highest region) and evaluating the digital images.

This procedure allows a precise estimation of the symbol timing offset (STO), and a coarse estimation of carrier frequency offset (CFO). The procedure is based on the inclusion of symmetric extensions in the transmitted symbols for the synchronization, which makes it useful not only for communications systems based on the discrete Fourier transform, but also for transceivers based on the discrete cosine transform (DCT). Among its main applications are communications through single-mode optical fiber, powerline communications, wireless and wireline systems, and in general, all the techniques that use multicarrier and single carrier modulations. The group seeks companies from the telecommunications sector to sign technical cooperation agreements, commercial agreement with technical assistance and patent licensing agreements.

A base station has a coverage area between 12 km2 and 27 km2 without obstacles. The system provides broadcasting and unicasting communication modes and reduces the power consumption of Wi-Fi® interfaces as it does not require an active Wi-Fi® connection. The technology can be used in applications for the Internet of Things (IoT) in order to interchange data between sensors and Internet using a single Internet connection in the base station.
