Fabrication of tips for scanning probe microscopy with enhanced resolutionCSIC has developed tips for scanning probe microscopy (SPM) where an isolated nanoparticle is placed at the apex of the tip. The method allows to tailor the shape, size and composition of the nanoparticle improving the measuring capabilities of the tips. These novel tips are suitable for techniques that combine imaging, such as SPM and spectroscopy like tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS). Industrial partners manufacturers of laboratory equipment are being sought to collaborate through a patent license agreement. Ultrafast and sensitive humidity sensor with subsecond response timesThe Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) have developed a humidity senso r. This sensor allows to detect and quantify the surrounding humidity by optical transduction. The device is based in the optical response of a photonic crystal. This humidity sensor has been successfully tested showing response times under one second. Industrial partners manufacturers of sensors are being sought to collaborate through a patent license agreement. An offer for Patent LicensingRadoslaw Rudz posted this:

Energy efficient technology of perfect crystal growthA university laboratory (Russia) has developed a versatile method of perfect crystal growth as a technology to produce a wide range of crystals. These can be applied in detectors, customs terminals for cargo and cars examination, anti-terror systems, in a tomography of ultrahigh permission and a magneto-optics. The laboratory is looking for industrial partners to identify crystals for mass-market applications, for transfer of technology of crystal growth and sale of crystal growth equipment.Centre Technology Transfer CITTRU posted this:
The subject of the offer is new nonlinear optical materials for use in optoelectronics, optical devices and components. The offer relates to co-crystals, from which one of polymorphic form is an efficient, phase matchable second harmonic generator. The averaged, relative experimental of second harmonic generation is over 14 times higher than of the commonly used nonlinear material (potassium dihydrogen phosphate). The presented optical material is colorless, suitable for growing large single crystals. The obtained crystals have extreme values of birefringence with reference to other transparent materials. The maximum birefringence for one of the polymorphic form is 0,46. For comparison, calcite, which is commonly used for the production of polarizing prisms, has a birefringence c.a 0.17. The offered materials, thanks to their properties, may be used for the construction of optical devices and components. Moreover, due to the polar structure may exhibit properties such as pyroelectricity, piezoelectricity or ferroelectricityUniversidad de Alicante posted this:
New family of dyesThe main innovative aspects of this technology regarding current methods of synthesis are: • The indolizine dyes are obtained in one step from commercially available materials, unlike current procedures, which involve multiple steps. This is an advantage in the production process, as it reduces costs, increases the final yield and less waste is generated. • The procedure is based on a very simple treatment which produces indolizine dyes in yields higher than 70%. • The present invention does not require the use of inert atmosphere, dry solvents or physical activation (heat or radiation) to obtain the final product. • Unlike other methodologies for preparing indolizine dyes (requiring temperatures around 100°C), this process is carried out at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, which simplifies the method and decreases production costs. • This is an environmentally friendly technology because it does not use solvents such as dioxane, pyridine, chloroform or benzene, which are used in other methods and are characterized by their high toxicity and demonstrated carcinogenicity. • The selectivity of the reaction is very high. The indolizine dye is obtained with absolute control, obtaining a single isomer of the ten possible.Licensing Manager at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC

Diamondlike coatings for optical systems, medical devices, automotive industryAt the university (Novosibirsk) the technology of diamondlike coatings is developed for optical systems in the wide range of IR-optics. Coatings have high adhesion to a variety of substrates and are suitable for application as medical antibacterial coverings, a friction reducing coating with a low friction coefficient, antirust coats. The laboratory looks for partners for technical cooperation and technology licensing.
