Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Very active aluminum catalysts in glycidyl methacrylate ring opening polymerization, with application in electronic devicesThe research group in "Organometallic Complexes in Catalytic Processes" of the University of Alcalá presents the synthesis of aluminum aryloxide compounds and their application in glycidyl methacrylate ring opening polymerization processes. The most frequent use of this polymer is as photocurable material with optimal characteristics for use in electronic devices. The research group looks for companies in the electronic industry, especially those dedicated to the preparation of electronic components, to reach patent licensing agreements, collaborative or commercial agreements with technical assistance.

frec|n|sys SAS posted this:SAW and BAW devices for harsh environment sensingthe company proposes battery-less and wireless sensors capable to operate under very harsh environment, particularly high temperature conditions with a target at 1000°C. The company has developed SAW sensors designed to operate above 600°C for which a new solution for sensor/antenna assembly has been developed and protected. frec|n|sys has developed its own patent portfolio and a various temperature sensors now are available in frec|n|sys early catalog.
Laser Consult Ltd. posted this:Lightning conductor with upgradeable modular structureOur partner a Macedonian company has developed a modularly upgradeable lightning conductor with built-in early streamer emission device. Lightning conductors are designed to increase the efficiency of lightning attraction and to improve the radius of protection 1.5 - 3 times of a conventional lightning rod. The modular structure enables different functions for the product. The company is interested in finding suitable license partner.

The emitter consists in a plurality of SiC barriers which are highly close and similar and which axes are parallel therebetween, formed by self-alignment with an equidistant separation. The operation of the device at low voltage is useful for obtaining an efficient emission, which results from the quantic mechanical tunneling between the barriers of the electrons injected from the cathode contact.
University of Huelva posted this:Measurement system for the identification and accurate determination of distorting loads in electrical networks and microgridsThe only measurement of distortion level in a network can highlight the need for action to control it. Among those actions is, for example, the use of power filters. However, the determination of the most suitable point where the filter must be connected and its most appropriate configuration requires further analysis of the micro-network (a subset of nodes in the network with different loads connected to each). Therefore, an additional study becomes necessary to establish the responsibility of each load in global distortion levels. In addition, the establishment of the model of the most responsible loads is also necessary in order to decide the filter configuration. In this sense, the load may be voltage distorting or current distorting. All this information is provided by the device of the invention. Indeed, the device, besides distributing the responsibility for overall levels of distortion between each agent, reports whether loads are voltage harmonics or current harmonic sources. This information is the most relevant to determining the power filter settings that best mitigate the distortion in each network node.

University of Vigo posted this:Suppression of Impulsive Noise for Power Line CommunicationsPower Line Communications (PLC) is an emerging field that enables to carry data on a conductor that is also used simultaneously for AC electric power transmission or electric power distribution to consumers. The widespread use of these technologies is however, compromised by the presence of impulsive noise that arises from interferences generated by devices connected to the power line. Therefore removal of impulsive noise is critical to get a high performance of PLC systems. UVIGO researchers have developed a novel methodology to mitigate impulsive noise by monitoring those carriers of the radiofrequency spectrum that are free of transmission in PLC systems. The identification of the noise signals allows its selective removal keeping the quality of the overall PLC signal.

The method allows for the preparation of hydrogenated polyacenes which are readily converted into the corresponding polyacene. Prepared materials are useful starting materials in the preparation of organic field effect transistors (OFETs), used in organic electronics. The method paves the way to the preparation of more efficient OFET components.

The process uses electrospraying technique to deposit a suspension of a carbon material over a collector. This method facilitates processing superporous nanostructured carbon materials due to its high efficiency and less complexities compared to conventional techniques. The electrodes obtained can be used in energy storage or analytical sensors in commercial devices.
