Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Diagnosis of the Building Pathologies by qualified and quantified images. The research group "Image, Metrics and Architecture" from the University of Alcalá along with the startup Voar has developed the tool for the diagnosis of pathologies in the construction by the images processing. The images are captured with digital, thermal imagers, with the use of drones and robots to enter to areas with difficult access and from them, the processing that facilitates the diagnosis is carried out with a software. This tool is useful for conservation and maintenance companies of buildings, real estate corporations, insurance companies or certification to achieve collaboration and commercial agreements with technical assistance.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Capacity control and people counting system.GEINTRA, a research group from the department of electronics of the University of Alcala, offers a technological solution for people counting allowing an accurately real-time people counting. The system can count the exact number of people accessing a particular enclosure (building, shopping malls, nightclubs, etc.) which allows to take appropriate actions based on the number of people who are inside the controlled room (it informs to the authorities of the number of people, it can be used for the ventilation activation adapted to the needs, restricted access, etc.). GEINTRA is looking for companies working in technological or telecommunications sectors to achieve cooperation or license agreements.
Universidad de Alicante posted this:Biometric identification system based on eye blinkingThe Optics and Vision Sciences research group at the University of Alicante has developed a method for biometric authentication by recognizing the blinking of a subject. The method consists of studying and characterizing the changes in the intensity of diffused light during the blinking process. Those changes are used to classify the blinks using different algorithms. A subject can then be identified according to the parameters recorded. This method allows the authentication of subjects by means of a non-contact procedure, and even unconsciously. Commercial or built-in on mobile devices video cameras or webcams can be used for its application provided that the video is recorded at rates higher than 150 frames per second (fps). We are looking for companies interested in the commercial exploitation of this technology as well as in adapting it for the development of related projects.
