Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization of Novosibirsk State University posted this:Highly efficient cooling system for data centersThe scientists of an academic university specializing in the development and design of equipment have developed a novel technology of highly efficient cooling for data centers. The system allows to remove heat flow of 300 W/cm2 and more with a relatively low power consumption. It is a compact and almost silent system. The authors are looking for partners to integrate their technology into data centers and mining farms.

For this cooling process we use thermogenerators. Based on weather situation cooling of photovoltaic modules could result in higher electric energy.

Because of the big volume of poor quality prefabricated apartment buildings, that still exist in Poland, one of our goals is also to elaborate a scenario of holistic revitalisation of those buildings in accordance with the requirements of sustainable development.

The invention consists of a heat sink with an array of fins which are parallel-oriented to the flow direction at low temperature but, as the temperature locally increases, deform to perturb the flow. The flow perturbation reduces the local thermal resistance, allowing high heat flux extraction without increasing the wall temperature.
