This procedure allows a precise estimation of the symbol timing offset (STO), and a coarse estimation of carrier frequency offset (CFO). The procedure is based on the inclusion of symmetric extensions in the transmitted symbols for the synchronization, which makes it useful not only for communications systems based on the discrete Fourier transform, but also for transceivers based on the discrete cosine transform (DCT). Among its main applications are communications through single-mode optical fiber, powerline communications, wireless and wireline systems, and in general, all the techniques that use multicarrier and single carrier modulations. The group seeks companies from the telecommunications sector to sign technical cooperation agreements, commercial agreement with technical assistance and patent licensing agreements.

The group has developed an ultrasonic system, with a friendly configuration, calibration and deployment, which can be intended to cover extensive indoor spaces. The system works in a GPS-like mode. It uses active beacons and is privacy-oriented, without any node limits being located at the same time. The algorithms used allow to deal with noise problems, multipath propagation and near-far effectswhat gives the system a centimeter precision. The group is looking for companies working in automation, computer or telecommunication sectors to achieve technical collaboration agreements.

This model is useful for communications and positioning systems. The proposed model provides the channel response for the usual environmental phenomena. The model simulate how these phenomena affect a particular acoustic signal, and therefore, the performance of an underwater system based on acoustic signals can be evaluated previously to its deployment. The model has been tested for the case of underwater localization systems. GEINTRA is looking for companies working in telecommunications and IT sectors or performing works related to exact science and physics to achieve technical cooperation agreements.

The Delayed Dictionary Compression (DDC) family of algorithms was invented by Prof. Yossi Matias and Mr. Raanan Refua.
