Innotech Materials posted this:Hydrophobic nanocellulose for sustainable packagingA hydrophobic nanocellulose has been developed to replace synthetic polymers including PE, PP, or PVC to reduce plastic waste. It is thermally stable, mechanically strong, and provides water vapor and oxygen barrier properties suitable for food packaging, so the nanocellulose would be an ideal material for sustainable packaging.
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC posted this:Novel biobased aromatic and aliphatic polyesters from carbohydratesNew biobased aromatic and aliphatic polyesters that can replace isosorbidebased polyesters with improved properties (mechanical, thermal, optical and chemical resistance) have been patented. Partners to further develop the system and/or to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC posted this:Enzymatic aqueous preparation for the surface functionalization of paper or cellulosic substratesA new biotechnological product for the chemical modification of the surface of cellulosic substrates has been patented. The bioproduct is obtained from an enzyme-mediator system, and several properties can be easily conferred to substrates applying very low concentrations of this enzymatic product in their surface. Partners to further develop the product and/or to establish commercial agreements along with technical cooperation are sought.

Universidad de Alicante posted this:New procedure for the elimination of printed ink from plastic filmThe most innovative aspects of this technology are: • The process for the removal of the ink is completely innovative and ecological, because it does not use organic solvents. • The technology has been successfully tested on different plastics, such as Polythene, Polypropylene, Polyester and Polyamide. It is viable for both water and solvent based inks.
