University of Huelva posted this:New device and system for the recovery of communication equipmentThe present device is focused on the automatic recovery of operating systems for routers and switches, which is one of the fundamental claims on this invention since there are no current devices in the state-of-the-art for such purposes. Another particularity that distinguishes to the present invention is that it is not only software or hardware in contrast to other approaches, but of a complete hardware/software device (i.e, both capabilities are combined). Another of the most significant singularities is its portability, since the invention is based on a reduced size device (non rackable) and made up of autonomous battery. This allows to carry out any function with total freedom to move. Besides the comfort, it contributes a great improvement in working time, since operating with distant devices implies an additional time in turning off, turning on again, and enabling the necessary services to start the recovery procedure. As additional feature, the invention looks for the universality and independence from manufacturers or device model. Besides this purpose, another differentiated function is the capability to store the firmware of the communication devices to be recovered (i.e., the image of the operating system) through an internal physical storage unit of great capacity.
University of Huelva posted this:Auto-assemblable RJ45 male connectorOn the one hand, the invention does not require a crimp tool, which is ideal for cabling operations that require quickness. On the other hand, the innovation allows reusing the RJ plug as many times as required until properly assembling the copper pairs. Furthermore, the connector incorporates an identification by color codes for wiring according to the ANSI/TIA-968-A-2002 standard, which is ideal for people with limited dexterity on IT.
UATEC - Unidade de Transferência de Tecnologia posted this:3D printer for the in-situ building of habitable modules with a raw mixture of binders and the soil of MarsA student of the University of Aveiro did the “spin-in” of an invention that started to be developed with the collaboration of teachers and investigators of several departments. The invention, that’s been arising interest in the business sector, locally and nationally, aims at the production of habitable modules using the soil in inhospitable locations, and it was specifically thought for Mars. The advantages of this process are the total automation, and it distinguishes itself from other solutions proposed until now for providing a closed construction, airtight, with total habitability, safe against cosmic radiation with other devices, and the possibility of holding distinctive functions. He University is looking for partners that may be interested in financing the development of this tool.
