Summary of the technology
The research group GEINTRA from the Department of Electronics of the University of Alcalá has a long and extensive experience in the definition and design of high complex and demanding embedded electronic systems for the implementation of efficient architectures in different application fields: communications, transport, energy, power and control, sensory systems, etc. Such solutions, based on SoC (System-on-Chip), FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) and/or processing devices, represent an effective alternative, with competitive advantages in terms of frequency, response times, systematic testing and verification, safety approvals, etc. GEINTRA is looking for companies working in telecommunications and IT sector or companies working in transports or industrial manufacturing to achieve technical cooperation agreements.

GEINTRA is ready to design and implement algorithms and digital signal processing by means of advanced architectures, which are analyzed in detail in order to define the most appropriate architecture for their deployment in last generation devices. Such developments and experience are an important step when we want to develop successful solutions for the electronic market. Those developments may be incorporated in any application area where an electronic information processing requires high performance solutions regardless of its nature.

Throughout its story the research group has achieved a remarkable experience in the design and development of electronic embedded systems. They are based on different types of devices such as general purpose processors, digital signal processors, or programmable logic devices (FPGA). This work has been carried out with the successful completion of numerous previous research and technological projects, in which they have addressed the design of such electronics systems.
Previous developments have focused on various application areas. Among them it stands out for its current relevance the design of last generation communication systems, the design of electronic power converters for renewable energy and the design of rail transport electronic systems, among others.
In each of those fields an analysis of different algorithms and proposals has been carried out. The study of the most efficient architecture for the required needs, the algorithm adaptation and optimization to the architecture, and finally its implementation and starting up. This involves the development of a systematic methodology but with enough flexibility to carry out the efficient implementation of signal processing algorithms in various kinds of embedded systems.
