Summary of the technology

Aqueous antioxidant extracts of vegetable raw materials, procedure of obtaining and their use in the composition of a cosmetic and/or dermatological product. Extracts obtained from Cytisus scoparius flowers, Pleurotus ostreatus mushrooms, Brassica rapa leaves and Quercus robur acorns using microwave-assisted hydrodiffusion and combined with gravity (Microwave hydrodiffusion and gravity, MHG). These extracts were used in the formulation of moisturizing creams with sun protection made with different thermal waters, evaluating their chemical and bioactive stability, as well as their mechanical properties.

Details of the Technology Offer

A new procedure stands out for the extraction of bioactive compounds of plant origin by microwave-assisted hydrofusion (MHG), without the use of added solvents and contemplating less consumption of time, energy and resources, as opposed to traditional extraction techniques. Aqueous extracts have potential for the cosmetic field, since the bioactive compounds obtained replace the use of synthetic ingredients and/or additives. In this way, allergies or atopic diseases that are produced by the use of artificial products are counteracted.

Applications

The aqueous extracts obtained have a cosmetic and/or dermatological purpose given their antioxidant, firming and/or depigmenting capacity and ultraviolet filter in the formulation of personal care products. As well as its use in the pharmacological and food sectors for its bioactive properties.
