Background Residential electric water heaters commonly develop scale inside the holding tank over time. The presence of scale reduces the efficiency and service life of the electric water heaters, and it may also have an adverse impact on health. Standard maintenance for these water heaters consists of a professional cleaning every 3 years and user cleaning every 6 months. The process for cleaning the water heater tank is straightforward, but time-consuming and messy. Haier, a major manufacturer of hot water systems, seeks technology that will allow easy cleaning (removal of scale) of electric water heater tanks. Ideal solutions will sense when scale removal is necessary and automatically self-clean. But solutions that can provide efficient and easy cleaning on demand are also of great interest. Additionally, the structural design of successful technologies is important – scale and other sediment should be easily flushed from the tank to prevent clogging. Additional information: • Electric water heaters have different volumes, including 40L, 50L, 60L and 80L, etc. • The inner tank of the electric water heater is pressurized. The rated water pressure is 0.80Mpa and the municipal tap water pressure is 0.05Mpa; the rated supply voltage is 200V and the rated frequency is 50HZ.

Background Chest freezers can experience frost formation on the internal surfaces. The frost thickness can reach 5-10 mm within 1 week and can affect the heat transfer efficiency and energy consumption. Over time the frost thickness can also reduce the available storage space and cause inconvenience to consumers who must periodically remove the frost. Tests show that the frost layers mainly concentrate on the lower part of the cabinet and its liner with a frost formation rate of 10g per day (the compressor keeps on for 10 minutes and then keeps off for 14 minutes). We are now seeking for technologies or solutions that can rapidly reduce air humidity level when air flow passes.
Organization from Germany posted this Technology CallSeeking Calcination Technologies for Inorganic Materials Under Corrosive AtmosphereHigh temperature treatment of inorganic materials is an important unit operation in the production of inorganic high performance materials used in ceramics, energy storage and as catalysts. The required volume goes up to several thousand tonnes per year. During the process, crystalline phases are formed, sintering occurs and combustible or volatile ingredients are removed. Current technologies often employ ovens for batch-wise operations and rotary kilns for the continuous mode. While these technologies are scalable and reliable, we are seeking partners with technologies for the high temperature treatment of an inorganic material under an atmosphere of air, steam and corrosive gases (hydrogen chloride). The new technology is preferably less energy demanding, less capital intensive and easy-to-apply.
