Summary of the technology

Phenalkamine curing agents are established bio-based cross-linking agents utilised with epoxy resins in the formulation of coating systems servicing numerous market sectors including coatings for the marine, transport, civil engineering and construction sectors as well as industrial protective coatings and anti-corrosion protection.

Details of the Technology Offer

Bitrez offers a range of industry standard Phenalkamines that have long established application history and may be suitable for many areas. Additionally we have made subtle technological improvement to enhance the performance of the standard grades and reduce regulatory pressures and enhance application performance. We have added a series of next generation products that offer significant advantages over the conventional grades with lower toxicity, much faster thin film cure speed and improved film performance.

About Bitrez Limited

Bitrez is a Queen's Award winning, R&D focused resin-manufacturing organisation that offers an extensive range of highly innovative materials developed for an equally broad range of markets and applications within the Composites, Coatings, Adhesive and Insulation (casting / encapsulation) sectors.

Products include Amino and Amino-triazine, Epoxy, Phenolic, Vinyl Ester, Benzoxazine and Phenol-Aralkyl resins along with a range of complimentary curing agents and catalysts.

In the recent past, whilst our focus has always remained the development of high performance polymers, we have adapted many of our chemistries to be compliant with REACH, the European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals, which came into force on 1st June 2007.

However, during the past 12-18 months, a key focus has been the further development of our range of Green chemistry, focusing on bio-epoxy, bio-based curing agents and bio-phenolic (PFA), formulated for processing via numerous methods.

Rapid response and flexibility are combined with in-house R&D offering controlled design, development and implementation programmes, including pilot plant to assure new and existing customers of timely, effective solutions to their resin requirements.
