Seeking Oral Care Solutions with Seal and Protect Benefit

What we are looking for:

Products, technologies or ingredients that provide protection against attacks, reduce the risk of attacks, and/or improve existing conditions in the oral cavity.

Benefit areas of interest are:

• Delivery methods that provide increased contact of oral care actives with teeth and gums, tongue, cheeks, etc.
• Continuous and extended oral care treatment
• Providing sub-gingival and supra-gingival protection
• Enhanced and sustained protection of oral surfaces from caries, hypersensitivity, gingivitis, tartar and plaque related problems
• Providing substantive control at night and better morning mouth

Product form could include:

• Paste, Gel, Rinse
• Strip
• Alternate forms/Combination of forms
• Devices

Preference is for solutions that provide measurable substantivity (remain active in the oral cavity for a prolonged period of time) by:

• Reducing the bacteria in the mouth which increases throughout the night
• Neutralizing and/or eliminating bacteria in the mouth, on the teeth and gums
• Mitigating plague buildup, tartar build up and gingivitis
• Preventing or protecting oral cavity against plaque re-growth and biofilm formation
• Protecting hard tissue surfaces (enamel and dentine) from endogenous and exogenous insults

Preference is for solutions where human safety has been confirmed or material(s) are food approved ingredients or GRAS. US monographed ingredients if classified as an OTC in US or equivalent from other BoH.

• That have clinical studies, FDA approval under the appropriate class, or an expedited path to FDA approval or global regulatory opportunities
• That are effective at causing clinically significant reductions in plaque and gingivitis
• That demonstrate sustained and measurable antimicrobial activity against pathogens involved of gingivitis and periodontitis
• Granted or filed patent applications are preferred

What we are not interested in:

• Solutions that are Rx
• Solutions that provide short-term/transitory benefit
