This strain is safe, commonly used in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Bioelectrodes according to the inventive could be used in microbial fuel cells, microbial electrolytic cells and potentially for the construction of biosensors. The implementation of the invention will allow for obtaining a new, relatively cheap and easy to build renewable energy source, which will be neutral for human and the environment.
Centre Technology Transfer CITTRU posted this:The subject of the offer is new nonlinear optical materials for use in optoelectronics, optical devices and components.Along with the dynamic development of optical technology, there is an increasing interest in materials characterized by high birefringence and high efficiency of generating the second harmonic. The presented offer relates to co-crystals, from which one of polymorphic form is an efficient, phase matchable second harmonic generator. The averaged, relative experimental of second harmonic generation is over 14 times higher than of the commonly used nonlinear material (potassium dihydrogen phosphate). The presented optical material is colorless, suitable for growing large single crystals. The obtained crystals have extreme values of birefringence with reference to other transparent materials. The maximum birefringence for one of the polymorphic form is 0,46. For comparison, calcite, which is commonly used for the production of polarizing prisms, has a birefringence c.a 0.17. The offered materials, thanks to their properties, may be used for the construction of optical devices and components. Moreover, due to the polar structure may exhibit properties such as pyroelectricity, piezoelectricity or ferroelectricity.

UNIVERSIDAD DE BURGOS posted this:A device for the evaluation of the stuctural integrity of pipes and conduction elements subjected to high pressure.A device for testing components subjected to high pressure (pipes and conduction elements), being able to hitch in any universal machine of dynamic tests to reproduce the work cycles (0-6000bar-0) of the different components to analyse. Thanks to this new equipment, it will be possible to verify quickly and easily new components subjected to high pressure knowing their corresponding fatigue lives, allowing preventive maintenance of the equipment.
University of Huelva posted this:Mixer and Substrate Packing Machine for hydroponic crops and the like. The machine is designed to beat and fill sacks of substrate for hydroponic cultivation, among other applications. The invention is in the area of new techniques of cultivation of the land. Hydroponic cultivation facilitates and potentially increases the production without needing preparation and it also improves its collection.
University of Huelva posted this:Manual Handler of Concrete SleepersThe machine was designed to disengage steel bars from prefabricated concrete sleepers manually, which allows to increase production, safety at work and to improve the technical properties of the final product. The stretcher has two benches that allow movement in two directions, longitudinal and trasnverse. The process is done in such a way that the four active screws are de-stressed at the same time, avoiding damages.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Development and method of construction of a new electrochemical sensor of Magnesium (Mg2 +), without the need to add organic salts, additives or organic solvents to the sampleThe research group in Bioelectrochemistry and Biosensors of the University of Alcalá in collaboration with the Textile Industry Research Association (AITEX) has developed an electrochemical sensor of magnesium (Mg2 +) and a construction method based on the formation of a polymeric three-dimensional network that allows the entrapment / immobilization of a selective indicator for Mg2 +, eriochrome black T, by the use of a crosslinking agent and a polymer. The combination of these three reagents allows the construction of the sensor on any conductive surface, avoiding the electro polymerization of the indicator. The resulting sensor allows to measure MG2 + in any type of samples, without the need to add organic salts, additives or organic solvents. The quantification of Mg2 + is done directly by incubating the sensor in the sample containing the analyte, resulting in a modification of the amperometric signal proportional to its concentration. This method has many applications especially in health and biomedical sector since Mg2 + participates in such important activities as neuronal, neuromuscular transmission, or regulation of blood pressure and plays a key role in various pathologies such as vascular and migraines headache. The group is looking for companies in the agro-food, bio-sanitary and environmental sectors, with the aim of reaching technical collaboration agreements, commercial agreements or patent licenses.

The main applications of this Ethernet switch technology are networks of data centers and computer networks in general, audio-video bridges and other types of transparent Ethernet bridges. The group is looking for companies in the telecommunications sector with the aim of reaching technical collaboration agreements, commercial agreements or patent licenses.

In addition, the invention relates to the use of the dendrimers as an antimicrobial and the process for obtaining them. The group seeks to reach collaboration agreements, licensing or commercial agreements with technical assistance, with companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and biomedicine sectors in general.
Cracow University of Technology posted this:Method of preparation of oxide catalystThe invention relates to an innovative method of obtaining a chromium/ZrO2 catalyst using an ultrasonic field in its synthesis. The catalyst is designed to VOC combustion (especially methane, contained in waste gases). The main advantages of the chrome-containing catalyst obtained by sonication method are its high thermal stability, lower diffusion limits and lower costs compared to palladium catalyst.
Fundació URV posted this:Breath test for dengue disease diagnosisElectronic nose device capable of detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the breath of peopel suffering from Dengue. Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection causing a severe flu-like illness and, sometimes, it causes a potentially lethal complication called severe (haemorrhagic) dengue. In up to 80% of the cases, the disease is asymptomatic or mild, and can even pass unobserved. There is no specific treatment for Dengue or for Haemorrhagic Dengue, but its diagnosis at an early stage reduces the mortality rate below 1%. The current diagnosis of dengue is carried out in epidemiology laboratories by blood tests, which may be negative in the early stages of the disease. In this invention, a new system for non-invasive, early, fast and easy to use diagnosis test for Dengue disease from exhaled breath analysis has been developed.
