Olive pomace-based hydrogels containing novel micelles with rutin and resveratrol for topical use

Summary of the technology

The incoporation of rutin and resveratrol promotes the micelles protection and facilitates their permeability into the skin, enhancing their biological action. These micelles have healing, antioxidant, and anti-aging properties due to the presence of rutin and resveratrol. The materials used are safe, green, easily found in nature and respond to the environmental concerns. The formulation of this product aims to achieve a one-step procedure to input rutin and resveratrol in the biocompatible hybrid micelles, develop a low-cost product with diverse skin benefits and develop an innovative green technology-based skin care product from natural and safe ingredients. Additionally, the NanoMICDermo addresses economic, environmental and social sustainability challenges by using food by-products (olive pomace) as a source for hydrogels.
