Desired outcome

Currently measuring of IgG in our plasma fractionation plant is done by drawing a sample of a given intermediate and measuring it off-line with a nephelometer. An on-line probe would be highly advantageous as it saves time and allows continuous monitoring of dissolution of alcohol fractionation derived pastes (fractionation of human plasma)

Details of the Innovation Need

Takeda is currently fractionating large amounts of human plasma to gain life-saving products like immunglobulins and albumin. The method applied is alcohol fractionation which originally was developed by Cohn and co-workers already in the 1940s. IgG (immunglobulin G) is a key driver of the human plasma business. In order to facilityte the determination of IgG in solutions from plasma fractionation (containing ethanol up to 40%) an on-line probe to measure IgG reliably directly in such solutions would be highly desirable. As outlined above currently IgG is determined by nephelometry after the respective solution.

The measuring range should be ideally from 0 to 200 mg/mL IgG

If available Takeda is interested to buy the probe/analytical instrument
