Principal Researcher at CSIR from South Africa · Pretoria, South Africa
Dr Jayita Bandyopadhyay is an enthusiastic researcher, and her activities are focused on developing polymeric blends and nanocomposite materials for high-end industrial applications. She was born in India and received academic education in Physics (B.Sc and MSc) and later on completed her PhD studies in Chemical Engineering at the Université Laval in 2011. Her academic training and research experience have provided her with an excellent background in the field of polymer science and material characterization techniques such as thermal analysis, small angle X-ray scattering and rheology. She has joined CSIR in 2008 as a researcher studying the structure-property relationship in nanoclay-containing polymer nanocomposites. Over the years, she has progressed to principal researcher position at CSIR and associated professor at Université Laval and nurturing her skills towards knowledge generation, product development as well as human capital development via supervising students and interns. Currently she is leading a diversified team working on multiple polymer related projects. She is also associated with International Polymer Processing Society and Plastics|SA.
