Event description

31 May and 1 June, 2012. What is meant by the term Open Innovation and how can the principles be used in practice by SME’s?
This event is intended for SME's, Knowledge Transfer Professionals and individuals interested in understanding, adopting and using OI principles.
Presented by speakers from industry, OI intermediaries, academia, creative and IP sectors, and drawing on examples from within Scotland, across the UK and Europe.
Delegates will better understand what is meant by Open Innovation; how to apply OI to business models; understand how large companies apply the principles to product development; learn from contemporaries how OI has been useful; understand how to use Intellectual Property in Open Innovation and access publically funded research; understand the role of OI intermediaries and how to unlock creativity in their business model.
