Dr. Héctor Torres-Gómez

As part of my training as a Synthetic Medicinal Chemist, I have experience in working in multidisciplinary teams, in which my part was the design and synthesis of compounds but also the interpretation of biological and pharmacological findings for re-designing or re-purposing compounds according to their pharmacological profiles. For doing so, having good knowledge in those fields and communication skills for sharing and discussing information with colleagues of others disciplines was a crucial factor. I am used to supervise undergrad students and also into taking the lead in constructing productive collaborative networks with other research groups.

I am used to work on multi-step synthesis and in working in several mini-projects at the time. I consider myself very disciplined and pragmatic. When it comes to molecular design and synthetic route planning, I like to do it the easiest way possible, avoiding the addition of non-essential complexity to the molecules.

I am also interested in further developing entreperneurial skills, innovations programs and learning about medical affairs, crop protection and animal medicine
