Clean Bite, Inc. began in 2009 as a Pennsylvania LLC, that designed, prototyped, and patented a single-use oral hygiene toothbrush made from collagen. Shaped like a mouthpiece, it has ~800 bristles and four reservoirs of dentifrice that rupture on compression, filling the bite channels. After 60-90 seconds of utility (brushing the teeth, gingival margin, tongue), Clean Bite™ I dissolves and is completely consumed. U.S Patent No. 8,292,624. CBI has added Clean Bite™ II and III to its portfolio, designed to provide oral hygiene and self-brushing for companion pets. With adaptation under the same patents, Bite™ II can be made to provide oral hygiene to people with physical disabilities as well as those who have aversions to brushing, which may include people on the autism spectrum. U.S. Patent No. 11,730,144 with additional patents in the EU, other Non-EU European countries, and India, with a global patent runway to 2040, covering 2.5B people and ~715M companion pets.
