Lecturer at University of Barcelona
Industrial Microbiologist with a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Environmental Management, with expertise in agri-food biotechnology, agricultural microbiology, sustainable crop production, plant - soil interactions, and food quality.
My expertise integrates agri-food biotechnology, organic agriculture, soil and plant health, crop stress, food quality, analytical characterization of bioactive compounds, and data analysis. During my doctoral research, I investigated the impact of organic crop management practices on soil and plant health, with a particular focus on sweet potato and tomato crop systems, beneficial soil -plant–microbiome interactions, crop stress responses, and the quality and bioactive composition of agricultural products.
I have extensive experience in research and interdisciplinary scientific collaboration, including research on organic amendments, plant response, biofertilizer and biostimulant R&D, analytical methodologies, chemometrics, and the development of microbial-based biotechnological applications. My research has resulted in peer-reviewed publications on organic crop systems, organic fertilization, water stress, phenolic compounds, and chemometric analysis of bioactive compounds in food products.
