CEO at Lytegro Limited
I am the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of LyteGro Limited, a UK biotechnology company developing sustainable fermentation technologies that improve microbial growth, bioprocess efficiency and industrial productivity. LyteGro has commercialised BacLyte™, a proprietary platform derived from upcycled banana waste that accelerates microbial growth and fermentation across a broad range of bacterial and fungal species, with applications spanning enzymes, recombinant proteins, probiotics, industrial biotechnology, diagnostics, biofuels and food production.
I have more than 25 years' experience in biotechnology innovation, commercialisation and venture-backed start-ups. Prior to founding LyteGro, I co-founded Medherant Ltd, where I helped develop and commercialise next-generation transdermal drug delivery technologies, securing over £20 million in equity investment and grant funding while building strategic partnerships with leading global pharmaceutical companies.
I hold a PhD in Immunology from the University of Leicester and am the inventor or co-inventor on multiple international patent families covering industrial biotechnology and fermentation technologies, including LyteGro's patented fermentation enhancement platforms.
I have successfully led technologies from laboratory discovery through scale-up to commercial manufacture and am passionate about translating scientific innovation into products that deliver measurable commercial and environmental impact. I actively seek collaborations with industrial partners interested in improving fermentation performance, reducing manufacturing costs and developing more sustainable bioprocesses.
