Summary

I am spearheading a transformative solution in the field of water treatment to address the pressing global issues of water scarcity and contamination. My methodology revolves around converting animal waste proteins, specifically keratin, collagen, and ovalbumin, and other aquacultural by-products, into innovative bio-polymeric membranes, leveraging their inherent and unique properties.

This groundbreaking initiative not only seeks to purify and conserve water but also endeavors to repurpose valuable proteins found in animal waste, encapsulating the essence of the circular economy and fostering global environmental sustainability. The approach is especially pertinent in areas experiencing semi-arid climates and escalating water demands, offering substantial solutions to regions worldwide, including Southern Spain.

Beyond the conventional scope, my innovation holds the potential to extend to atmospheric water harvesting, capturing water molecules from the atmosphere due to the high affinity of these bio-materials to water molecules, potentially enhanced by nano-structuring. This allows for an additional source of clean water, mitigating reliance on energy-intensive water supply methods and pushing the boundaries of conventional water treatment methodologies.

I am actively seeking collaboration with visionary researchers, Ph.D. professors, and investors passionate about water conservation and sustainability. I aspire to unite with like-minded innovators who can contribute their insights and expertise to elevate this concept to a commercially viable product, impacting global water treatment paradigms and advancing environmental sustainability.

I and my team pioneered an initiative in Lebanon, ingeniously converting PET wastes into plastic shoes. Remarkably, this was achieved using an environmentally conscious method that minimized our carbon footprint, reflecting our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Driven by such groundbreaking ideas, our team secured the 2nd place, emphasizing our dedication to making a positive impact. Furthermore, we're thrilled to announce our selection to advance to the global competition at the San Francisco Regional Summit. This achievement, while a testament to our team's capability, also underscores the potential of our revolutionary concept. As we step onto the global stage, we remain passionate about our mission and are determined to share it with the world.

METHOD OF TREATING POLLUTED WATER USING A POLYMER

Ministry of Industry and Trade Directorate of Industrial Property Protection/ Jordan

March 2022

Patent: A method for treating polluted water is disclosed herein. The method comprises combining different kinds of animal proteins to form a polymer and treating
the polluted water with the polymer. The polymer is in the form of a coagulant and an adsorbent. The polluted water is treated to remove physical, chemical, and biological contaminants through coagulation-adsorption processes. The contaminants such as turbidity, one or more heavy metals, and one or more microorganisms are removed from the polluted water by the polymer.
