IOPs, when injected into the infarcted myocardium, lead to improved heart function after MI. IOPs activate anti-inflammatory macrophages and thus promote tissue healing and repair and prevent myocardial remodeling and dysfunction. Potential Applications IOPs can be used to treat AMI and other inflammatory conditions associated with pro-inflammatory activated macrophages and to promote tissue healing and repair. Advantages ? IOPs are nontoxic ? IOPs are FDA approved for use in humans for MRI imaging Stage In vivo studies in mouse and rat models of MI and heart failure Project ID : 10-2011-247

They can be attached to existing blades so are particularly suitable for retrofitting to larger blades, such as wind turbines. They are however applicable to a wide range of blades moving in air and water, for example turbines, fans, rotary wings and fixed wings. The scale of application ranges from small drones (small blades operating at high speeds) to large wind turbines (large blades operating at slower speeds).

This device uses a non-invasive approach for and in situ monitoring of the disease, even by the own patient at home. The group is looking for companies to manufacturing a prototype, reaching licensing agreements or collaboration.

From problems of surveillance in industrial, commercial or domestic environments, or rescue and help in catastrophic areas, till problems of efficient package delivery in companies like Amazon or DHL, require mathematical optimization algorithms that solve these problems optimally and efficiently through the deployment of cooperative robot teams. The cooperatTive ExploRation Routing Algorithm (TERRA) is a planning system that, using artificial intelligence techniques, allows a team of robots to combine their capabilities to complete more complex tasks. For this, TERRA implements a novel robotic cooperation paradigm that offers a solution to the problems mentioned in the previous paragraph. This exploration paradigm uses a ground vehicle to reach terrestrial targets and, a drone team to reach the aerial targets. Unlike other route planners, TERRA coordinates and plans efficient routes that meet the objectives set in the shortest time with the greatest cost savings.

Brunel University London posted this:Zagblade: Reduction of aero acoustic pollution by introducing novel serrated trailing edgesAn aerofoil blade design that reduces trailing edge noise by means of a saw-tooth serration filled with a porous material. The serration and porous material work constructively with each other to significantly improve the aero-acoustic performance. An optimal choice of the porous materials has been identified, where it can achieve broadband noise reduction whilst completely suppressing the vortex shedding tone. This new device is more industrially-ready than the conventional “add-on” type serration due to its superior structural integrity. In addition it produces an aerodynamic performance similar to that of the baseline aerofoil. Applicable to a wide range from applications from drones, UAVs, aircraft engines, wind turbines and fan blades.
