The classical method to access them from a different network is the redirection of the corresponding TCP or UDP connections to local networks from the border router. The redirection requires a high level of expertise in communications to be performed. Another strategy that is often used is the creation of VPN (virtual private network). This technique allows the control of access but does not allow connections to be discriminated or the management of power supply. The proposed system allows you to control the person and the moment to access as well as the free access. The modification of these constrains can be performed in the course of an access session. In addition, the system allows the control of power supply of the device you want access to. The interface is very friendly and does not require continuous changes in the configuration of the router. The system has a local database access control and validation can be delegated to other servers using protocol validation like LDAP, IMAP, POP3, etc.

It is useful for the connection of a distributed generation system to a bipolar DC grid. For these applications, the proposed topology is a solution with sufficient guarantees of reliability, quality and performance. The converter circuit is very simple, it includes three inductors, four capacitors, two diodes and a power switch as a switching device.

Those features are as follows: - multi-functionality, - ability to generate an extra driving force, - significant increase of swimming speed, - reduction of robot unwanted hull movements during swimming with side fins enabling proper work of onboard equipment and sensors etc. (for solutions in robots imitating fish); - increasing the dynamic of swimming depth changes; - wide range of change of direction of thrust force (also reverse thrust). - unlimited range of change of thrust around axis of rotation of side fins, - ability to dynamically stabilize heel movement of the hull - no change in the direction of rotation of the main engine transferred into oscillatory motion of lateral fins, - less energy consumption, - frequency of oscillation at a level of several Hz

Based on artificial vision, this system measures the remaining thickness of the graphite layers of the collector strips. Automatic processing of collected data generates a 3D model of the strips, analyzing it to detect cracks and wear, which is crucial for pantograph maintenance.

The widespread use of these technologies is however, compromised by the presence of impulsive noise that arises from interferences generated by devices connected to the power line. Therefore removal of impulsive noise is critical to get a high performance of PLC systems. UVIGO researchers have developed a novel methodology to mitigate impulsive noise by monitoring those carriers of the radiofrequency spectrum that are free of transmission in PLC systems. The identification of the noise signals allows its selective removal keeping the quality of the overall PLC signal.

The method allows for the preparation of hydrogenated polyacenes which are readily converted into the corresponding polyacene. Prepared materials are useful starting materials in the preparation of organic field effect transistors (OFETs), used in organic electronics. The method paves the way to the preparation of more efficient OFET components.

Daphnia sp., requires its counting and characterization to evaluate several parameters. Currently the score is performed by technicians by direct observation (“naked eye”) of exposed organisms. This process is slow, tiring and subject to human error, and it can have adverse effects on visual acuity of the technical staff involved in the count. This patent, developed in a Portuguese university, solves the problem by counting and automating this process with gains in runtime and accuracy and enabling quick and efficient recount. It follows the optimization of the process of assessing the exposure to contaminants in tests that require the use of small-sized organizations. The university is looking for companies interested in the production and commercialization of this industrial equipment.
