Centre Technology Transfer CITTRU posted this:Chitinase A – potential applications in various fields.Methods of chitinase purification, used so far, consisted of multi-stage and expensive procedures. Affinity chromatography was also used with so-called affinity tags. These tags could interfere with the functions of chitinase, and their cut-off was associated with the next step of digestion and purification. The proposed method of Jagiellonian University’s chitinase A purification using affinity chromatography with the involvement of G proteins is fast and efficient single-step. In addition, use of direct conjuction of chitinase and protein G eliminates the need of chitinase tagging, which may disturb protein functions, whereas their cutting requires additional digesting and purifying stage.
Fundació URV posted this:NEW PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING MONOLAYERS OF FUNCTIONALIZED NANOPARTICLESThis new procedure (not described in the bibliography) allows the manufacture of monolayers of metal nanoparticles linked by molecules of organic compounds. As you can see in Specifications, this procedure consists in two successive processes. One of the main advantages of this technology is the minimization of impurities in the functionalized monolayer compared to commonly used techniques. Besides, the manufacture of Schotty diode with this new procedure has been shown for the first time. In the same line, this procedure allows the use of monolayers of metal nanoparticles for metabolite detection. These are two unique and differents aspects of this technology in relation to other known used techniques.
Universidad de Alcalá-OTRI posted this:Procedure for obtaining peptides with antioxidant and antihypertensive properties from olive seeds.A research group from the Analytical Chemistry Department at Alcalá University has developed a procedure from which it is possible to obtain peptides with antihypertensive and antioxidant capacity of isolated proteins from olive seed by enzymatic digestion. The method consists of the protein extraction from the olive seeds using a previously developed process, and digest the extracted proteins with Thermolysin enzyme, allowing to obtain peptides with antihypertensive capacity in vitro, or with Alcalase enzyme leading to obtain a peptide extract with antioxidant properties. The group seeks to establish commercial , licensing or collaboration agreements with companies of the food and pharmaceutical sectors interested in both the use strategy of this waste material (olive pits), as in the use of the found bioactive peptides.

The P-CE has a battery system which gives it electrical autonomy. It is designed inside a 35x15x45 cm suitcase. It is a capillary electrophoresis assisted by external pressure. Electrical consumption is not required to generate the pressure, which increases the instrument autonomy.
