In this way, the vehicle reaches a better adaptation to the space and organization of the warehouse. In other words, the vehicle can be adapted to the place and it is not necessary to adapt the place to the vehicle. The main innovative aspects are: • The vehicles have a high level of autonomy, due to the dynamic planning of paths. • Avoid collisions because the system can modify the path in real time. • The definition of new paths without modification of the environment avoids costly investments.

Simplicity: the method consists in a dry exfoliation without adhesive materials. Quality and reproducibility: the exfoliation is clean (no trace of adhesive), reproducible and it does not produce defects in the substrate. Efficiency: it is possible to deposit a high density of atomically thin layers of the material. Control: it is possible to control the pressure exerted, allowing for a fine-tuning of the deposition conditions depending on the nature of the layered material manipulated.

Low cost: obtained by a chemical process of a single stage, with a single precursor, at low temperature, and highly available, non-polluting and low cost materials. Good cyclability: testing in cyclability is promising in terms of electrochemical and mechanical stability. In parallel to its advantages as supercapacitors, the nanocomposites show the advantages associated with the following additional properties: Giant magnetoresistance, GMR: this property is observed at room temperature, and high magnetic fields are not needed. Source of carbon nanoforms: based on the nanocomposite, can be obtained a mixture of carbon nanoforms consisting of nano-onions and multi-walled nanotubes.

Compensation of other gases different to H2O and CO2. • This method do not use spectra smoothing, avoiding distortion of infrared bands from the analytes. • Improvement of the results obtained employing commercially available software tool.

With this invention, it’s possible to provide new methods for obtaining spinels or other mixed oxides with a higher processability and versatility than those existing to date, allowing also for obtaining new spinels and removing the need for extremely costly phases in time or energy, including milling or heating at temperatures up to 1200ºC.

A pilot plant fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure and with ability to treat 100L/h of wastes is available in order to develop the pre-industrial phase and scaling-up of these processes. This technology could be of interest to several industries: chemical, tannery, textile, etc. Innovative aspects of the tecnology: - The EC cell is controlled electrically and have no moving parts, thus requires less maintenance - The EC process avoids uses of chemicals and so there is no problem of neutralizing excess chemicals. - EC produces effluent with less total dissolved solids (TDS) content as compared with chemical treatments.

The applicability ranges from medical (non-incisive surgery, ecography, physiotherapy) and ultrasonics in general, to environmental acoustics. The invention consists on the description of a new method to obtain acoustic lenses in different frequency ranges (audible and ultrasounds). The acoustic lenses are formed by an array of concentric rings in such a way that they have the ability to collimate an acoustic beam. The correct arrangement of the rings is calculated in a two-dimensional space by means an inverse design algorithm (Genetic algorithms). The conventional acoustic lenses are based on the curvature of its surface for focusing sound thanks to the phenomenon of diffraction. By contrast, the lenses presented here are based on reflection of sound by elements (rings) scatterers distributed properly. This allows more margin for improvement in design and operation. For example, here we describe the operation of a multi-focus lens capable of changing the focal length depending on the sound frequency. Furthermore, we present an example of operation of such a lens type at the audible frequency of 2200 Hz that validates the proposal.

Nevertheless, these methods are contact devices, which may be difficult to use when the specimens not accessible due to the object itself or the surrounding conditions (inaccessibility, damage risk, etc.). Alternatively to the accelerometers, Doppler vibrometers are often used as non-contact devices. Although they provide very accurate result, they result expensive and non-cost effective for many applications. Additionally, both of them only provide a single point measurement while our method permits, not only monitoring the process but, with the vibration map, obtaining the vibration frequencies of all vibrating objects in the scene at a glance.

However, all of them have serious disadvantatges. 1) with software that uses atom-atom potentials: Advantages: fast and capable of working with large molecules. Disadvantages: the "blind tests" carried out by the "Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre" are giving a 50% maximum success in the predictions. 2) with software based on DFT calculations: Advantages: good results Disadvantages: they are computationally very slow, so they are only used for very simple molecules compared with drug molecules. In addition, they have errors predicting van der Waals interactions and weak hydrogen bridges if not corrected empirically. 3) with software using ad hoc potentials for each molecule obtained from systematic exploration of the surface potential of intermolecular interactions: Advantages: efficient and faster. Disadvantages: some potentials should be calculated for each molecule studied, which are complex and slow, and is not general. The approach presented here is new and unique because the potential Pixel has never been used before for drawing polymorphic predictions and it has shown to present the advantages of all the alternatives combined. This is the first research group which has brought the potential Pixel to this level of calculation. The potential calculations and the applicability of the methode based on pixels have the same quality that the sophisticated ab initio based potential calculations. Besides, this is much faster than DFT (Functional-Based Theory)-based and ad hoc potentials ..
Fundació URV posted this:Integral management of all kinds of user information using a single computer application and a single object-oriented databaseThe innovative aspect of the proposed technology is to allow the users to focus on their data objects, not on the specific workflows of the applications: this is known as the document-centered approach, in contrast with the application-centered approach. Other technologies addressed the document-centered approach in the past, such as the Carnegie Mellon University's Andrew toolkit (1985), the Dr. Ken Sakamura's BTRON system (1985), the Hewlett-Packard's NewWave framework (1987), the Microsoft's OLE and ActiveX technologies (1992) and the Apple and IBM's OpenDoc architecture (1994). However, all of them are based on file systems to store the information, and some of them still use classical computer applications as the native user interface for its document-oriented workflow (i.e. OLE/ActiveX). The main new aspects of the proposed technology are the integration of all information into a single object-oriented database, the object hierarchy management to build more complex objects, the zoomable user interface to edit/view each object in a hierarchical fashion, and the organization of the information objects into projects, sets and subsets (see the specifications for more details).

The alert becomes more and more frequent as the obstacle is closer. The system is comfortable and discreet making easier the user social integration. It is worth to highlight that this technology is new for this kind of devices. Until now, smartphones were not able to extract real measures from the environment. This application extracts about 30000 measures per frame, with a frame rate of 9 fps. The interface allows configuring different features: operation mode, alert type, volume, speech velocity, language, etc.
