Application

Perovskite nanoparticles are revolutionizing display technologies by down-converting some of the light from the blue LED backlight to narrow-band red and green components which results in much improved color gamut, color temperature and color rendering. Perovskites are renowned for their high efficiency, color quality, and tunability.

Our Innovation

The researchers developed a facile, low-temperature solution-process synthesis of tunable 2D organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite nanostructures. Confined 2D perovskites demonstrate enhanced optoelectronic properties compared to the bulk (3D) material.

Opportunity

Perovskite emitters have excellent performance characteristics and compete favorably with OLEDs and QDs while benefiting immensely from the investments made in QD technology to educate the market and force the adoption of narrow-band down-converters for improved image quality.
