VEGF Stimulation for Anti-Aging Treatment

Posted by Yissum - Research Development Company of the Hebrew UniversityResponsive · Innovative Products and Technologies · Israel

Summary of the technology

A treatment resulting in attenuation of multiple aging phenotypes ("healthy aging") and lifespan extension
Project ID : 6-2018-4548

Description of the technology

Keywords

Anti-Aging, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor

Current development stage

TRL3 - hypothesis testing and intial POC demonstrated in limited number of in-vitro models

Application

With continuous increase in the elderly population, many age-related health problems have become a major healthcare issue.

Attenuating deleterious age-related processes taking place in multiple organs is highly desirable.

Our Innovation

A novel method for attenuating and/or delaying age-related deterioration using an externally supplied molecule that stimulates one of the body's own physiological signal transduction pathways at a very low level.

  • Beneficial effect on multiple organs
  • Attenuate and/or delay development of adverse phenotypes that develop naturally in aging individuals

Pre-clinical Results

  • Initial analysis of well-known age-related processes taking place in multiple organs reveals a remarkable attenuation of these processes in mice. The natural signal transduction pathway has been stimulated at low level with no side-effects.
  • The finding uncovers a compelling evidence for the beneficial effect of this treatment per the processes like: Attenuation of bone mass loss, decreasing subcutaneous fat loss, decreasing development of a fatty liver and pancreas (steatosis) and counteracting age-related hematopoietic imbalances.
  • The native induction resulted in dramatic extension of the individuals' lifespan

Opportunity

  • Slow aging
  • Lifeextension
  • Effective treatment for age-related symptoms or disorders such as osteoporosis, steatosis, hematopoietic disturbances, sarcopenia, etc.
