By a new ionophore incorporated into a polymeric membrane that allows screening creatinine real samples. The use of said ionophore in the polymer membrane solve the selectivity problem found in other methods.

New type of molecule-specific recognition (ionophore) incorporated in the polymer membrane that allows selective detection of creatinine in kidney samples.
The proposed approach solves the problem of selectivity and specificity of the signal to show other potentiometric techniques.
Main advantages of its use
The main advantages of this sensor allows direct detection of creatinine in biological fluids with minimal sample treatment quickly, simple to operate and build, requires minimal maintenance and allows additionally perform disposable single-use sensors.

Wide range of applications as it allows chemical and biochemical analysis of creatinine in different body fluids that offer improved analysis telemedicine attention points and the possibility to monitor health, since creatinine is an important analyte to analyze and control. The sensor characteristics allow it to be developed portable / wearable scale and improve monitoring.
By the use of this sensor, creatinine levels can be measured constantly in people with kidney problems and metabolism functional problems, favoring a more exhaustive control.
