Job Opportunity Innovation Manager (Performance materials & speciality chemicals industry)

Job Description

Our client, a world’s leading chemicals company in performance coatings and specialty chemicals serving global clients through its 12 production sites and 9 R&D centers, is looking for a senior manager to carry out the position of Innovation Manager. While the Company has existed for more than 80 years, it is working to challenge the paradigms and develop new market concepts and business opportunities.

The company is establishing an “Innovation Manger” function to drive growth and exploitation of internal and external resources to identify relevant partners, products and technologies to create new value into the pipeline and scout for new markets opportunity. The role will also be responsible in leading new projects with externally sourced partners as well as manage stakeholder’s engagement processes through legal agreements and informal contacts.

Reporting to the Company’s board team you will have a unique role in shaping and developing the Company’s Innovation strategy.

Is this you?

• Proven track record in R&D and innovation management.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in the field of innovation management/ research and development.
• Extensive experience of using a variety of Open Innovation tools and techniques to identify, assess and engage internal and external sources of innovation.
• Proven experience of managing partnerships with external partners both through informal contacts and legal frameworks.
• Thought leadership with respect to relationship management both with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience of managing cross functional, globally spread teams.
• Engage with academic partners and funding institutions.
• Working systematically with innovation providers to understand emerging technologies and set up roadmaps of technology solutions.
