Description of the technology offer

We have developed a technology for producing precisely tailored nanoparticle colloids based on Laser Ablation in Liquids. Our solution allows low-cost industrial production of a wide range of nanoparticle systems, for a wide range of applications. By means of our process technology, we have developed a method to fabricate special colloidal substrates to be used for SERS (Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy) analysis of a range of selected bio-molecules in body fluids. The nanoparticles in the colloidal suspension are functionalised so to be strongly selective against a pre-defined biomolecule or molecular moiety expressed by a specific bio-agent. A liquid substrate for Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been already developed, and a substrate for cardiac Troponin-I is currently under development.

We are interested in a joint-venture to start-up volume production..

What is specially important to note is that our solution avoids the well known difficulties encountered in the case of chemical-based processes, where even hazardous ingredients are often used with an impact on environment, safety and costs. The in-line functionalization of the nanoparticles, moreover, avoids the need to purify the product, so contributing to keep the production cost affordable.

Description of the technology offer

The optical transmit and receive modulated beams systems using laser use different optical elements to transmit and receive information. However, it is possible to simplify this philosophy and use part of the same elements for both functions taking, but different optical paths, the same optical axis. Thus, the present invention is an apparatus for optical duplexer transmit and receive laser beam with annular irradiance; the laser beams are linearly polarized in two perpendicular planes that propagate in both directions over a single optical axis.

The device consists of a catadioptric reflector that transmits and receives polarized laser beams that are directed, according to its meaning and state of polarization, to the outside (transmitted beam) or inside (received beam) through a polarizing cube beam splitter , mirrors and lenses.The solution proposed by this invention simplifies the problem of alignment between remote transceivers.
