  Heads Up Display (HUD) technology projects a virtual image on to a car's windshield or windscreen, giving the driver real-time information on driving speed and other data. The key components of the HUD system include an optical engine to generate the image, a projection screen, lenses and an aperture opening in the dashboard. The combined effect of the optical system is to create an image "past" the windscreen so it appears someway in front of the vehicle. Currently this Virtual Image Distance is approximately 2 meters.
  
  Future trends indicate that augmented reality (AR) will be a standard component of HUD technology. AR could typically include real time driving directions, improved vision in poor driving conditions, more effective warning signals of obstacles. For maximum driver comfort and for AR to be effective, the Virtual Image Distance should be greater than 10 meters.
  
  Given the VID challenge, the image additionally should not be small. A Field of View meeting or exceeding 15 degrees x 7.5 degrees is sought.
  
  In order to generate the desired image, a large optical pathway is necessary which makes the existing equipment bulky. Increasing the VID requires an increase in the optical pathway of the generated image, which increases the size of the total HUD system beneath an already crowded dashboard. The volume of the HUD components beneath the dashboard is called the construction space. If a total system is being proposed, it should fit within a construction space of 7 liters.
  
  The company is also interested in receiving information on components which can make the traditional HUD system smaller.
  
  Ideal Requirements:
  
  o Image resolution > 900 x 450 Pixels (operating with Field of View 15 degrees x 7.5 degrees)
  o Luminance, measured at eye >10,000 cd/m2
  o Contrast, virtual image on black background > 500:1
  o Straylight: no straylight or ghost images inside and outside eyebox
  o Colour: RGB
  o Construction space: 7 liters

  We are working with a leading company in the personal care industry, interested in identifying external capability to carry out High Throughput Screening (HTS) of a variety of inputs, ranging from simple compounds to complex mixtures in a number of different antimicrobial assays. The potential partner must have an array of automated liquid handling capabilities in a BSL2 (Biological Safety Level 2) facility, coupled with the necessary microbiological experience to be able to run a number of different screens, including against yeast, fungi and a variety of different bacteria.
  Our client is primarily interested in exploring High Throughput 96 well plate (or higher density) methods of screening and the ability to carry out complex assays such as microbial reporter gene assays, fluorescence based assays, kinetic assays and anaerobic assays as well as routine MIC and MBC assays would be an added advantage. The potential partner/service provider should be able to demonstrate their expertise or ability to-
   Provide throughput requirement ranging between 50 to 300 96 well plates per day.
  
   Maintain and culture standard laboratory strains of microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
  
   Make mixtures or formulations from a library of ingredients/ compounds as screening may be against defined mixtures, potentially comprising up to 3 compounds each.
  
   Select hits from a library for further testing.
  
   Provide evidence of broad microbiological expertise base to cover complex screens of various microbes.
  
  It will also be desirable to have experience of working with obligate anaerobic bacteria e.g. Anaerococcus spp., Bacillus spores, Malassezia spp. (including but not limited to M. furfur), fungi such as Aspergillus niger and microbes which are challenging to culture and grow consistently in vitro.
  
  As this would not be a standard pharmaceutical type screening, we will be interested in engaging with companies who have screening experience outside of pharmaceutical with the ability to adapt to our client’s precise cherry-picking and screening needs.
  
  We are keen to find partners for ongoing collaborations allowing for bioassay development and plate replication activities.

  We are seeking bio-ferment ingredients for our line of personal care products, and such ingredients may be incorporated into products for topical skin use.
  
  Your bio-ferments may not be the products of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). They should be naturally fermented from raw materials such as wheat, milk, fruit, plants, and minerals -- it is possible to ferment a mineral to increase its bio-availability. We would be interested in such technologies, too.

Current technologies to enhance stability include both chemical additives and process technologies. However many of these technologies are sometimes not effective against all microbial types (narrow spectrum) and efficiency is impacted significantly by the initial microbial loading. Additives or processes that will reduce the initial microbial loading or will work over a broader spectrum of microbial types will allow current technologies to be more effective in providing beverage stability.
