Description of the technology offer

We have developed a technology for producing precisely tailored nanoparticle colloids based on Laser Ablation in Liquids. Our solution allows low-cost industrial production of a wide range of nanoparticle systems, for a wide range of applications. By means of our process technology, we have developed a method to fabricate special colloidal substrates to be used for SERS (Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy) analysis of a range of selected bio-molecules in body fluids. The nanoparticles in the colloidal suspension are functionalised so to be strongly selective against a pre-defined biomolecule or molecular moiety expressed by a specific bio-agent. A liquid substrate for Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been already developed, and a substrate for cardiac Troponin-I is currently under development.

We are interested in a joint-venture to start-up volume production..

What is specially important to note is that our solution avoids the well known difficulties encountered in the case of chemical-based processes, where even hazardous ingredients are often used with an impact on environment, safety and costs. The in-line functionalization of the nanoparticles, moreover, avoids the need to purify the product, so contributing to keep the production cost affordable.

In the automotive world, the study of aerodynamics is one of the most analyzed to obtain a reduction in the resistance exerted by the air of a vehicle. Currently there are several methods that attempt to improve this problem, requiring several of such a device that involves a complication in manufacture and assembly, may not be suitable for some types of vehicles such as, for example, motorcycles, automobiles or trains, as they have less space for installation of new devices.

Thus, the present invention is an injection nozzle for improving aerodynamic vehicles, especially for motorcycles, automobiles or trains, that achieved by a Venturi effect, increasing the air outlet speed without using any other type of device, modifying the vehicle's aerodynamic profile, approximating the shape of a more slender, which is better suited to incident flux.

Description of the technology offer

The present invention offers a device waveguide coupler that improves, by a factor of x5, the bandwidth of existing devices while maintaining the same performance and size.

Integrated optics, in which applies of microelectronic techniques for photonic integrated circuit, able to manipulate light micro or nanometer scale, are finding a large number of applications such as lasers and photodetectors, spectrometers, communications circuits or biosensors. The light travels within these circuits via waveguides. One of the most used components in these circuits are the couplers, which are circuits capable of dividing or combining power between different input guides, imposing specific gaps between the waves coupled to each output guide. More particularly, in integrated optics are generally used two types of couplers: directional couplers (AD) and coupling of multi-modal interference(MMI). The first one have the advantages of a simple design and arbitrary division ratios, while the second one usually offer better manufacturing tolerances and a greater margin of operating wavelengths (broadband). One of the problems of these couplers is its narrow bandwidth because, although several techniques have been proposed to improve it, all have a worse ranking as compensation benefits and an excessive increase in size.

Description of the technology offer

Currently on the market there are two groups of rain gauges, the common and recorders, also known as pluviographs, although due to its characteristics, some of these are not available to all users. In both types of rain gauges tend to occur a number of systematic errors that affect the quality of the measures. These include, those produced by the wind, an inappropriate location and installation, reading deficit, evaporation, wetness, etc.

Thus, the present invention is a recording rain gauge (bucket type) cheaper for every user, providing a measure of rainfall with quality. For this, the components of the gauge has been designed so as to minimize the errors caused by meteorological factors, mainly the wind, as well as those produced by instrumental or operational factors.
