Bactabio, S.L. is an spin-off funded by researchers with experience in microbiology and molecular microbiology. It owns self-developed technology to grow and preserve lactic acid bacteria. In addition, experiencie in the newest techniques in molecular microbiology enables Bactabio researchers to perform any approach concerning characterizacion and genetic manipulation of bacteria.
New and innovative aspects
Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are microorganisms that, when grown in conventional culture media, loss viability very rapidly. Liophylization is the usual means to preserve them. This, either increases costs or makes it very difficult to prepare and preserve LAB cultures if liophylization technology is not available.
